Students are able to recognise and interact with students at risk; understand why and how to differentiate their teaching; develop and present curricula/content on health promoting school activities, virus, relationships and school-based health education; and develop a personal education philosophy and mission statement. |
| Content |
This unit studies societal health issues; the knowledge, values, skills and behaviours that promote a healthy lifestyle. The issues covered concentrate on adolescent health problems that affect Western Australian secondary school students. As such, some of the topics include interviewing and listening, healthism and physical activity, HIV, suicide, and relationships. |
| Assessment |
This comprises the presentation of differentiated interactive teaching strategies and evaluation of real health education curriculum, and the creation and presentation of a debate.
Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit. |
