| Content |
This is principally a language acquisition unit intended to introduce students with no (or little) previous knowledge of the language to a level where they can speak, read and write basic Italian. Students are taught to speak, understand, read and write standard Italian on the basis of communicative and natural learning methodologies, supported by grammatical and linguistic approaches, and multimedia, in keeping with the current trends in methodologies for second language acquisition. The unit leads to ITAL1102 Italian Beginners II. |
| Assessment |
Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit except in the case of a bachelor's pass degree student who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 and is currently enrolled in this unit, and it is the only remaining unit that the student must pass in order to complete their course. |
