| Outcomes |
Students are able to (1) identify student learning needs and negotiate learning goals/a learning contract; (2) demonstrate skills in designing and implementing appropriate learning activities relevant to the clinical context; (3) discuss the effect of feedback on learning, and demonstrate competence in providing feedback; (4) demonstrate skills for facilitating learning in small groups; (5) apply appropriate assessment and evaluation methods in the clinical context; and (6) analyse clinical teaching and supervisory scenarios and develop strategies to deal with dysfunctional/difficult situations. |
| Content |
This unit provides students with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in the area of clinical teaching and supervision. Students explore the theories and practice surrounding clinical teaching, learning and supervision. Students use experiences from their own and others' teaching and learning to inform their practice. |
| Assessment |
There are no formal examinations. Assessment is based on a design of a learning activity (30 per cent), presentation of learning activity (40 per cent) and peer review of presentations (30 per cent).
Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit. |
