| Outcomes |
Students (1) gain advanced proficiency in written German; (2) are able to use a variety of online language resources; (3) develop an understanding of conventions of German writing; (4) become sensitive to modern German perspectives on world events; and (5) become aware of different stylistic characteristics of German texts. |
| Content |
This unit develops students' proficiency in advanced German reading and writing. Its focus is on particular aspects of language study such as translation of newspaper articles, intensive grammar studies, the development of advanced reading skills and techniques of essay writing. The unit teaches students to study German texts in great detail and develop their written expression in both German and English. |
| Assessment |
Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit except in the case of a bachelor's pass degree student who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 and is currently enrolled in this unit, and it is the only remaining unit that the student must pass in order to complete their course. |
