| Content | This unit follows directly from GRMN1102 German Beginners II and runs concurrently with GRMN2203 German Intermediate I. Skills covered in German Beginners I and II are consolidated, varied and developed in order to aid students to make the transition to second-year German and in preparation for ongoing study of the language. This intensive German bridging course replicates the workings of a journalistic editorial board. Students are contributors, judges and editors of a student magazine called ÜBER, which appears twice per semester in a print and online version. As a member of the editorial team students develop, plan, write, discuss, produce, market and distribute Western Australia's only German language youth magazine. All German Beginners students are encouraged to take the bridging unit alongside Intermediate I and/or to undertake the in-country course in Stuttgart during the summer break. | ||
| Assessment | Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit except in the case of a bachelor's pass degree student who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 and is currently enrolled in this unit, and it is the only remaining unit that the student must pass in order to complete their course. | ||
