| Content |
This unit develops skills in school psychology so students are ready to work relatively independently in a variety of professional tasks. It helps students develop sensitivity to the needs and characteristics of children, adolescents, parents and colleagues, both as individuals and in groups; develop knowledge and skills relevant to school psychology; develop an awareness of their professional attitudes; and undertake self-appraisal of their professional performance. Topics include managing critical incidents, behaviour (externalising and internalising), aggression, and learning problems. |
| Assessment |
This comprises tutorial presentation, classroom observation and presentation of a written psychological report.
Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit except in the case of a student enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Education who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 and is currently enrolled in this unit, and it is the only remaining unit that the student must pass in order to complete their course. |
