Outcomes Students demonstrate competence in the design and presentation of programs to support the information technology related subjects in senior school education; and demonstrate proficiency in the use of general application software such as word processors, spreadsheets and databases.
Content This unit provides students with the necessary knowledge, skills and competence to design, create and implement lessons and/or subjects suited to the information strand of the senior school technology and enterprise curriculum. It includes topics such as administrative systems, applied computing, digital media, industrial information technology, information systems, interactive media, and personal information technology.

This is a major curriculum unit that emphasises a flexible, adaptive approach to the development and teaching of information technology based subjects while ensuring that all aspects related to learning outcomes, curriculum design, pedagogical practices, assessment and evaluation are considered fully. It is expected that students be proficient in the use of general application software, such as word processors, spreadsheets and databases, developed during the completion of an undergraduate degree and/or additional information technology related courses or units and/or relevant practical experience, prior to entry to the unit.
Assessment This is based on the practical application of acquired theories and knowledge through the progressive completion of workshop projects and assignments, as well as a major assignment designed to consolidate all skills and knowledge acquired during the unit.

Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit except in the case of a bachelor's pass degree student or a student enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Education who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 and is currently enrolled in this unit, and it is the only remaining unit that the student must pass in order to complete their course.
