Students are able to understand and apply the core strands of ICT studies: (1) electronic information systems and literacy, internet communications and publishing, and interactive multimedia and digital interface/media design; (2) use of learning theories relevant to ICT-based instruction; (3) design and evaluation of internet, multimedia and ICT systems for teaching and learning purposes; (4) lesson planning strategies for ICT-based learning activities, projects and units of work; and (5) an outcomes-focused approach to curriculum design within the Technology and Enterprise framework. |
| Content |
This unit develops students' understanding of how Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) can be integrated into the curriculum in Years 8 to 10. Students are required to design learning activities, lesson plans and programs that focus on introductory and core ICT skills and, in so doing, are given an opportunity to acquire or improve their own practical proficiency and general knowledge. |
| Assessment |
This focuses on lesson planning and a 15-hour learning program.
Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit except in the case of a bachelor's pass degree student or a student enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Education who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 and is currently enrolled in this unit, and it is the only remaining unit that the student must pass in order to complete their course. |
