Outcomes Pre-service teachers are able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the appropriate curriculum documents; plan, implement and discuss creative student-centred learning programs that meet the Visual Arts curriculum guidelines; develop a commitment to high standards of preparation and presentation of learning experiences; and demonstrate collegiality in working with their peers.
Content This unit provides students with an overview of courses available in Years 11 and 12 in Western Australia and more particularly art-related courses. The relevant curriculum documents are used as a basis for programming and lesson planning, focusing on the development of appropriate learning strategies, selection of resources and the development of assessment programs.
Assessment This comprises two assignments.

Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit except in the case of a bachelor's pass degree student or a student enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Education who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 and is currently enrolled in this unit, and it is the only remaining unit that the student must pass in order to complete their course.
