Content This unit uses the Curriculum Framework, The Arts Progress Maps and Curriculum Guides and a range of school-related resources to enable students to develop the knowledge and competencies needed to create learning programs, design lesson plans, develop a range of learning strategies based on a variety of resources and develop appropriate assessment techniques.
Assessment This comprises two assignments; a series of lesson plans; and a learning program designed to assess curriculum knowledge, an understanding of learning theory, planning competencies and resourcefulness.

Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit except in the case of a bachelor's pass degree student or a student enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Education who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 and is currently enrolled in this unit, and it is the only remaining unit that the student must pass in order to complete their course.
