Outcomes Students demonstrate expert knowledge in a chosen area of study, and show appropriate scholarly and ethical behaviour in conducting and reporting their research.
Content Full-time students take this unit over two semesters and parts 1 and 2 must be completed to fulfil the requirements of the unit. Part-time students take the unit over four semesters and parts 1 to 4 must be completed to fulfil the requirements of the unit.

An honours dissertation, normally of around 20,000 words in length, should demonstrate original contribution to knowledge in a chosen area of study, knowledge of the associated research methods and scholarly reporting. The research should be manageable and conducted within one academic year of full-time study. The dissertation must be submitted for examination, with the written consent of the supervisor, to the Faculty of Education Research Committee by the specified date.
Assessment The dissertation is normally examined internally by at least two members of the Graduate School of Education other than the supervisor.

Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit.
