Semester 2 |
| Outcomes |
Students are able to appreciate the links between planning theory and practice; develop skills for planning practice; and demonstrate a range of transferable skills, including report writing, verbal communication and teamwork. |
| Content |
This unit involves students completing an internship with a host planning organisation during the course of the semester. Prior to starting the practicum, students organise a program of work in consultation with the unit co-ordinator and the host organisation. As part of the internship students complete a critically reflective journal relating to their activities and general planning theory and practice. The practicum is supported by a number of seminars/workshops and on-site visits by the course co-ordinator. |
| Assessment |
This comprises on-site assessment (ungraded pass/fail), reflective practicum journal (70 per cent) and an oral presentation (30 per cent).
Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit except in the case of a bachelor's pass degree student who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 and is currently enrolled in this unit, and it is the only remaining unit that the student must pass in order to complete their course. |
