| Outcomes |
Students are able to understand the legislative and other measures used to control land development; and develop their planning administrative skills in development assessment and control. |
| Content |
Land development and control is one of the major concerns of planners. This unit introduces students to the principles of land development and control through an examination of processes of land subdivision, development assessment and control, and a range of other planning instruments. Students undertake the unit through a series of lectures, seminars and practical exercises. |
| Assessment |
This comprises several in-class quizzes (30 per cent), a discussion paper (20 per cent) and a final examination on planning law and statutory planning matters (50 per cent).
Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit except in the case of a bachelor's pass degree student who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 and is currently enrolled in this unit, and it is the only remaining unit that the student must pass in order to complete their course. |
