| Outcomes: Students are able to (1) identify and discuss the digital media landscape, particularly key digital media formats; (2) identify and discuss various social perspectives associated with the digital media landscape; (3) work effectively in teams, using professional protocols; (4) research a topic by collecting, analysing and interpreting data; (5) express research findings and ideas coherently and logically in both oral and short essay formats; (6) identify, analyse and evaluate online resources associated with digital media production; and (7) use digital media production software. |

| Content: This unit introduces the fundamental elements and concepts in the practice and theory of digital media production focussing upon digital video. It develops students' creative production skills and considers key critical and theoretical issues relating to their application including the balance between aesthetics and information; and the interweaving of technology and humanities. |

Assessment: Two short digital media projects and a short written critique.
Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit except in the case of a bachelor's pass degree student who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 and is currently enrolled in this unit, and it is the only remaining unit that the student must pass in order to complete their course. |
